  R & D

We currently have five product candidates in various stages of development for cancer and immunologic diseases. Our integrated R&D organization is focused on identifying and pursuing drug candidates with compelling and validated biology.

Our research scientists gather unique insights about each of our drug candidates and the disease states for which they are being developed by studying molecular pathways and potential mechanisms of action.  We also work to define the role of biomarkers in better understanding the molecular basis of disease, and to identify drug candidates that are optimized to validated targets. The goal is to understand as much as possible about disease pathways and how drugs can intercept their targets.

Building on our years of antibody experience, we also maintain a core competency in antibody engineering within our research department.  These proprietary capabilities are important to support our overall R&D efforts, including the optimization of antibody product candidates in both the discovery or development phase.

Bridging research and preclinical and clinical development are our product operations capabilities, which allow us to develop robust and consistent bioprocesses, scale-up and transfer processes to manufacturing plants and establish comparability between materials produced at various scales. This is key to ensure a consistent supply of drug for clinical studies.

Later in development, our clinical approach is data-driven, so we can best test the science supporting our antibodies and identify how it can be successfully applied to address specific diseases, thus benefiting patients. Our goal is to work efficiently to test the safety and efficacy of our drug candidates and respond accordingly to emerging data by advancing our development programs in a disciplined manner. We believe this process will ensure we are as productive as we can be in identifying and advancing the most promising programs.

We invite you to learn more about our approach to R&D and to peruse our pipeline section for information about specific development-stage product candidates.
